On Fri 9th & Sat 10th October, Join the sos campaign to #keepthelightson

No evidence, no good. This government's 10pm curfew makes no sense for public health or for business.

What evidence?

The government has refused, repeatedly to provide scientific or public health evidence for the 10pm pub and restaurant curfew.

Bad for public health

What we have seen is crowds and gatherings on the streets, in off-licenses and on public transport as people are forced out all at one time.

Bad for jobs, businesses and the economy

Many restaurants can now only have one evening sitting. Some pubs make most of their weekly takings after 10pm on a Friday. Without evidence to support the curfew, this is just bad for the ~3million hospitality jobs in the UK

Time to act!

Pubs, restaurants, community and social clubs, and many other hospitality venues across the country have already joined the #KeepTheLightsOn campaign, will you?

#KeepTheLightsOn

It couldn’t be simpler

On Fri 9th and Sat 10th October –
1) When 10pm curfew comes, observe the rules and get your customers out.
2) Switch off your venue’s lights as normal.
3) Get your smartphone video camera ready.
4) Flash your venue’s lights on and off in the SOS pattern:
Short-short-short-long-long-long-short-short-short
5) Share the video on social media using the hashtag #KeepTheLightsOn and tag your MP and local media

You will be sending a strong message locally and nationally.
